US disrupted Russia’s participation in UN Committee on Information — Russian deputy envoy

The diplomat stressed that Russia considers such practice unacceptable

UNITED NATIONS, May 4. /TASS/. The US disrupted the participation of the Russian delegation in the UN Committee on Information, Russian First Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dmitry Polansky said Wednesday, noting that Russian Foreign Ministry Media Department head Maria Zakharova was provided a visa only on May 3, while other members of the delegation still have none.

"We have to draw attention to the fact that, due to the actions of the American side, participation of the Russian delegation in the sessions of the committee was effectively disrupted," Polyansky told the committee. "The head of our delegation […] Maria Zakharova received a visa only yesterday, while two other experts have no visas at all. All that, despite visa applications were filed in advance."

"We consider such practice unacceptable," the diplomat underscored. "We call on the secretariat to take necessary measures to prevent such things from happening in the future.".
