MOSCOW, October 18. /TASS/. Russian diesel will be supplied to the US mainly on Aframax-class tankers with a capacity of about 100,000 tons, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said in an interview with Vesti.
"Traditionally, there are several types of tankers; mainly, when they are used for long·distance transportation, they are Aframax vessels, with a capacity of about 100,000 tons. They can vary. It depends on the commercial terms," Novak said.
He said that after the sanctions are lifted, freight, transportation, and insurance of such transactions are not subject to restrictions.
"If the sanctions are lifted -- and they were lifted for six months, or the US Treasury issued a license allowing supplies to the markets of the United States. This means that both freight and transportation, and consequently insurance, are not subject to sanctions, and these transactions can be carried out," the deputy prime minister explained.
Earlier, Novak said that Russian diesel fuel would enter the US market within 15-20 days after signing the contracts.
