Russia commissions 677.6 MW of renewable capacity in 2025

The projects include the Severskaya solar power plant in the Krasnodar Region, the Kurchaloyevskaya SPP in the Chechen Republic, and the Derbentskaya SPP in the Republic of Dagestan

MOSCOW, February 26. /TASS/. The volume of renewable energy capacity commissioned in Russia totaled 677.58 MW in 2025. In 2024, 445.4 MW of such generation was built, according to the Russian renewable energy market review prepared by the Renewable Energy Development Association.

Most of the facilities were launched in the Q4 of 2025. The projects include the Severskaya solar power plant (SPP) in the Krasnodar Region, the Kurchaloyevskaya SPP in the Chechen Republic, and the Derbentskaya SPP in the Republic of Dagestan. In addition, the Grazhdanskaya wind power plant in the Samara Region, the Novoalekseyevskaya wind power plant in the Volgograd Region, and the Novolakskaya wind power plant in the Republic of Dagestan began operations.

"In the fourth quarter of 2025, the total installed capacity based on renewable generation in Russia increased by 542.65 MW," the review said.

The total capacity of solar plants commissioned in October-December amounted to 127.3 MW under the renewable capacity supply agreement support mechanism and 44.1 MW on the retail electricity market. The capacity of wind power plants built totaled 371.25 MW.

The Renewable Energy Development Association is a non-profit organization representing the interests of the largest and most active participants in Russia’s renewable energy and low-carbon hydrogen sector.
