Trade war between US, China may adversely affect Sino-Russian trade — expert

US duties in respect of Canada, Mexico, China and the EU may lead to GDP growth deceleration in these countries and across the globe in general, CEO of US-based Navigator Principal Investors Kyle Shostak said

NEW YORK, March 14. /TASS/. The possible trade war between the United States and China may adversely affect the volume of Sino-Russian trade, CEO of US-based Navigator Principal Investors Kyle Shostak told TASS.

"Russia will feel the effect of these trade wars through the prism of potential weakening of China’s positions. In case the volume of the Chinese industrial output declines, it will adversely affect the volume of Sino-Russian trade," he said.

US duties in respect of Canada, Mexico, China and the EU may lead to GDP growth deceleration in these countries and across the globe in general, the chief executive said. "Individual features of the economy of each country should also be addressed in this regard, knowing in advance that fiscal positions in any country - trade partner are certainly worse than similar US ones. We also should take into account the fact that counter-tariffs from these main trade partners of the US also focus on replenishing budget revenues of these countries, which will intensify the effect of inflation in each of them," Shostak added.
