Tyrnyauz concentration plant to be commissioned in 2028

Annual capacity of the cluster at the first stage is to be 2.5 - 3.5 mln metric tons of ore

MOSCOW, March 11. /TASS/. The Elbrusmetall group of companies created with participation of Rostec plans to complete primary mining and economic modeling of the Tyrnyauz mining cluster providing for development of tungsten-molybdenum and gold deposits in 2025, the state corporation informed.

The start of mining and commissioning of the concentration plant is tentatively slated for 2028. Verification drilling has started recently, which is to confirm exploration data.

"Development of the cluster is planned from its gold ore segment. Tungsten and molybdenum are viewed as the strategic perspective for the future. Development of deposits will give an impetus for development of the region from the standpoint of creating new jobs and increasing tax revenues. Verification drilling is currently underway. The future mining plan will be developed on its basis," Rostec said.

The tungsten-molybdenum and gold deposits are located in mountains near the city of Tyrnyauz in Kabardino-Balkaria.

"The start of mining and commissioning of the concentration plant is provisionally scheduled for 2028. Annual capacity of the cluster at the first stage is to be 2.5 - 3.5 mln metric tons of ore. The region will receive about 1,000 jobs as a result," Rostec said.
