MOSCOW, December 10. /TASS/. High-speed Internet coverage in Russia has reached 93%, Minister of Digital Development Maksut Shadaev announced during a meeting of the economic policy committee of the Federation Council, the upper house of the Russian parliament.
By 2030, 97% of households are expected to have high-speed Internet access, with 99% coverage targeted by 2036, which Shadaev described as "a very ambitious goal for our country." "We are on track so far, having already achieved a 93% coverage level in just four years," he emphasized.
Russia is actively constructing long-distance optical communication lines and has already connected more than 100,000 budget-funded institutions. Additionally, access infrastructure is being proactively developed in smaller settlements, he added.
