Russia, North Korea agree to increase number of charter flights

Russia introduced e-visas for North Korean tourists last year

MOSCOW, November 19. /TASS/. Russia and North Korea have agreed to increase the number of charter flights, the press service of the Russian ministry of natural resources said after the 11th meeting of the intergovernmental cooperation commission.

On November 18, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un met with visiting Russian Minister of Natural Resources Alexander Kozlov, who is a co-chair of the commission.

"In the first nine months of 2024, the tourist flow between Russia and North Korea exceeded 5,000 people. Air service accounts for more than 70% of it. The sides agreed to increase the number of charter flights between the countries. It is also planned to organize direct flights not only Russia’s eastern regions but also from the country’s largest cities," the ministry said.

Russia introduced e-visas for North Korean tourists last year.
