China’s Shandong views Russia as major trade partner — official

According to official data, in 2023, trade between Shandong and Russia grew by 27.6% to 259.41 bln yuan

BEIJING, April 10. /TASS/. Authorities in the eastern Chinese province of Shandong consider Russia to be a major partner as they plan to expand trade with it, Deputy Governor Song Junji said.

"Our province maintains trade partnerships with over 230 countries and regions. Among them, Russia is a major partner," the official said at a news conference taking a question from a TASS reporter.

"We will actively use the agreement on multilateral regional economic partnership, deepen economic ties with key markets from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and expand trade with Russia," Song added.

According to official data, in 2023, trade between Shandong and Russia grew by 27.6% to 259.41 bln yuan ($36.55 bln). Chinese exports saw a 26.5% rise, while imports from Russia increased by 28.1%.
