Putin okays Highland Gold deal — decree

Highland Gold Mining has gold mining projects in the Khabarovsk, Kamchatka regions and the Zabaikalye territory, as well as the Chukotka Autonomous District

MOSCOW, March 19. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has authorized the acquisition of 100% of the shares of the international company Highland Gold, owned by Highland Gold Mining Limited, according to a decree from the head of state published on Tuesday.

"To authorize the transaction to acquire 100% of the shares of the international company Highland Gold Joint Stock Company, owned by Highland Gold Mining Limited," the document says.

Highland Gold Mining has gold mining projects in the Khabarovsk, Kamchatka regions and the Zabaikalye territory, as well as the Chukotka Autonomous District. The company also owns assets in Kyrgyzstan.

The Russian President also authorized the acquisition of 74.99% of Ermakovskoye LLC owned by Foxra Holdings LTD and 25.01% owned by Rebra Investments LTD. According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Ermakovsky deals mainly in the extraction and enrichment of iron ore.
