Gazprombank’s UnionPay cards not operating in Austria

The National Bank of Austria, responsible for coordination of sanction measures in the country’s financial sector, refrained from comments

VIENNA, December 21. /TASS/. Holders of Gazprombank cards of the UnionPay system report impossibility of making transactions under them in Austria.

A TASS reporter found confirmation that cards are not serviced in ATMs and terminals.

The National Bank of Austria, responsible for coordination of sanction measures in the country’s financial sector, refrained from comments.

Gazprombank is not in the list of Russian financial institutions under EU sanctions.

As of December 21, such cards are not serviced in ATMs of all major banks of the country and payments under them are not processed via terminals of different stores and services.

TASS sent an inquiry to Gazprombank.
