Hungary to pay for Russian oil transit to Ukrainian operator — Foreign Minister

"The agreement was managed to be reached that the border of Hungary and Ukraine will remain the transfer point in terms of crude oil supplies," Peter Szijjarto said

BUDAPEST, April 11. /TASS/. The Hungarian company MOL will pay for Russian oil transit over the Druzhba oil pipeline to the Ukrainian pipeline operator, Foreign Minister Peter Szjiiarto said on Tuesday after talks with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.

Ukrainian authorities decided to increase transit prices, with higher risks due to the military conflict on the country’s territory being the rationale, the minister noted. This complicated mutual payments and oil supplies. "The agreement was managed to be reached that the border of Hungary and Ukraine will remain the transfer point in terms of crude oil supplies," Szijjarto said.

"We also managed to come to terms that in order to keep supplies and transit via Ukraine, MOL will pay for transit directly to the Ukrainian operator of the pipeline network," the minister added.
