The output also moved up for sugar beet by 2%, potatoes by 4.6% and vegetables by 1%

MOSCOW, March 1. /TASS/. Agricultural products output in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) had an uptick by 9.4% annually in 2022 and totaled 11.5 trillion rubles ($152.8 bln), official spokesperson of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Iya Malkina said at a briefing on Wednesday.

"The agricultural products output in the Eurasian Economic Union as of 2022 year-end surged by 9.4% and totaled 11.5 trillion Russian rubles," the spokesperson said.

"Positive evolution is related to the increase in harvesting key agricultural crops - grain and pulse crops in the first instance," she added.

According to preliminary data, the gross grain harvest in the EAEU totaled almost 187 mln metric tons, approximately 27% higher than in the last year. Higher yield was the driver for the significant increase in harvesting. Grain harvests soared by 58% in Armenia, 36% in Kyrgyzstan, 34.5% in Kazakhstan, 27% in Russia, and 19% in Belarus.

The output also moved up for sugar beet by 2%, potatoes by 4.6% and vegetables by 1%, Malkina noted.
