CHOLPON-ATA /Kyrgyzstan/, August 25. /TASS/. The establishment of a common economic and social space as part of the Union State of Russia and Belarus will be the best response to the illegal sanctions of the West, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Thursday.
"We are interested in taking our cooperation to a new level and forming a common economic and social space within the Union State. This will be the best response to the illegal sanctions that are being imposed against us," he said at a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Roman Golovchenko.
"Today the West is stepping up sanctions pressure on our countries. Unfriendly states are pursuing the goal of cutting us off from supply chains and the international financial system, breaking production ties and ultimately worsening the quality of life of our citizens," Mishustin went on.
He noted that under these conditions, Moscow proposes "to build up coordinated measures to protect the economic security and technological sovereignty of Russia and Belarus."
