Minsk expects to resolve gas price issue with Moscow in December

In early December 2018, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko noted the difference of prices for Belarusian and Russian gas consumers at the meeting of the Eurasian Economic Council

MINSK, October 1. / TASS /. Minsk and Moscow may make a decision on gas prices in December, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Igor Lyashenko told news agency BelTA on Tuesday.

"The working groups are cooperating. I think that in December at a meeting of the heads of state this will be a settled issue," Lyashenko is quoted as saying.

Lyashenko noted the convergence of the positions of the Belarusian and Russian sides during the negotiation process. "Do you remember the nuances that were agreed upon by the heads of state that there should be an understandable price for the next 2020. And subsequent integration programs will allow you to see further dynamics in gas prices," said the Deputy Prime Minister.

In early December 2018, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko noted the difference of prices for Belarusian and Russian gas consumers at the meeting of the Eurasian Economic Council. The gas price for Belarusian consumers is $130 per 1,000 cubic meters, whereas for Russian consumers it is $70 (in the Smolensk Region). This year’s price of the Russian gas for Belarus stands at $127 per 1,000 cubic meters.
