TEHRAN, September 21. /TASS/. Russian-supplied air defense systems S-300 PMU and also Iran’s own Bavar-373 systems were displayed at a military parade in Tehran on Wednesday.

The crowd of onlookers saw the newest samples of Iran’s military hardware, including Emad missiles (an upgraded configuration of Shahab-3 with a range of up to 1,650 kilometers and Sejjil missile (with a range of up to 2,000 kilometers), various air defense systems, including mobile Khatam-5 and Khatam-7 and the upgraded main battle tank Zulfiqar.
The parade was held in front of the mausoleum of the Iranian Republic’s founder, Imam Ruhollah Musavi Khomeini. Iran’s senior military commanders, including the top officials of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps and foreign military attaches observed the march-past from VIP stands.
Simultaneously a naval parade was held in the port of Bandar Abbas, with the newest Zolfaqar missile being the focus of attention. The Tasnim news agency says this long-range missile boast high accuracy and a multiple warhead.
Iran has traditionally displayed its newest weapon systems on September 21, the anniversary of the eight-year-long war with Iraq, which began in 1980.
