Russian forces repel one attack in Donetsk area, causing Ukraine to lose up to 300 troops

Ammunition depots belonging to the 27th Rocket Brigade and the 47th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian armed forces were wiped out near Lysovka and Zhelannoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic

MOSCOW, January 2. /TASS/. Russian forces repelled one Ukrainian attack in the Donetsk area in the past day, causing the enemy to lose up to 300 troops and 34 pieces of equipment, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

"In the Donetsk area, units of Battlegroup South, tactical aircraft crews and artillery forces repelled an enemy attack near Artyomovskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic. Units of the 42nd Mechanized Brigade, the 46th Air Mobile Brigade, and the 80th Air Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian armed forces and the 112th Territorial Defense Brigade were hit near Andreyevka, Bogdanovka, Georgiyevka, Kurdyumovka and Kleshcheyevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the statement reads.

The Ukrainian army lost up to 300 troops, three tanks, an infantry fighting vehicle, three pickup trucks, 19 motor vehicles, a US-made M109 Paladin self-propelled howitzer, two Giatsint-B howitzers, a D-20 artillery system, a D-30 howitzer, a US-made M119 towed howitzer and a Rapira anti-tank gun.

In addition, ammunition depots belonging to the 27th Rocket Brigade and the 47th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian armed forces were wiped out near Lysovka and Zhelannoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
