Russian forces successfully advance near Kremennaya — LPR officer

Retired Lieutenant Colonel of the People's Militia of the LPR Andrey Marochko said that Russian troops occupy advantageous positions

LUGANSK, February 12. /TASS/. Units of the Russian armed forces are successfully advancing past Ukraine’s defense lines near Kremennaya, Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) retired Lieutenant-Colonel Andrey Marochko has told TASS.

"With regard to the city of Kremennaya and its outskirts, I can confirm that our servicemen are maneuvering successfully. They had taken over a number of advantageous positions, driving out Ukrainian militants from their hideouts," he said. "Simply put, our offensive action has produced positive results."

Marochko did not specify how far the Russian forces advanced.

"It does not matter how far they progressed. What really is important are the positions that have been taken over, because the areas that had been taken over include commanding heights and advantageous positions, allowing to control wide swaths of the territory," he said.

The retired colonel said Russian forces near Kremennaya have enough manpower to fulfill their combat tasks.
