TEL AVIV, March 20. /TASS/. Israeli troops have resumed a military operation near the town of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip, the IDF press service said in a statement.
"Over the past several hours, troops of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have begun conducting a ground operation along the coastline in the area of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip. Prior to this, strikes were carried out against Hamas terrorist sites and anti-tank missile launchers near Beit Lahia," the statement said.
On March 18, the IDF carried out large-scale attacks against facilities of the Hamas radical Palestinian movement in the enclave. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office justified the move by Hamas' rejection of proposals made during talks with intermediaries and US special envoy Steve Witkoff.
