WASHINGTON, March 19. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump believes that Russian leader Vladimir Putin was very "very solid" and "very strong" during their telephone conversation on Tuesday.

"Putin was very solid, very strong, which he is," Trump told the Washington Examiner. "It was a very good call. I know him very well. I think he is very serious that he wants to end it [the conflict in Ukraine]," the US president added.

Putin and Trump held a phone call on March 18, discussing the idea of a 30-day ceasefire in the Ukraine conflict, ways to prevent a further escalation of tensions and a number of international issues. The Russian leader supported the US president’s initiative for an energy and infrastructure ceasefire in Ukraine.
