SEOUL, December 27. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his New Year greetings sent to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un that cooperation with Pyongyang conforms to basic interests of peoples of the two countries, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.
The congratulatory letter was sent on December 17, KCNA said. The summit of Russia and North Korea brought relations of the two countries to a qualitatively new level. "The agreement on comprehensive strategic partnership set conditions for fundamental expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in all important areas," the news agency said, citing the letter.
"I am confident that in the forthcoming year of 2025 we will continue close mutual work on implementation of this historical agreement and will bring further closer the efforts of combating modern threats and challenges," the letter says.
"No doubt, this corresponds to vital interests of peoples of Russia and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea," the letter of greetings indicates.
