The event was organized in the city of Rafah in southern Gaza

DUBAI, March 29. /TASS/. Hundreds of Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip have launched kites into the sky as a symbol of peace in the midst of war, Qatar-based Al Jazeera television reports.

The event was organized in the city of Rafah in southern Gaza. In footage broadcast by Al Jazeera, children are shown flying kites, symbolizing their desire for peace and freedom. "We're just trying to have some fun because the current situation is tragic," one of the girls at the event said in an interview with the TV channel.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the death toll since the beginning of the Israeli army's military operation in the Gaza Strip has exceeded 35,500 people, and about 75,000 more have been injured. There is also a serious humanitarian crisis in the embattled enclave. Recently, Jonathan Crix, chief of communication in the State of Palestine for the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF), reported that one in three children in the Gaza Strip suffers from malnutrition and this figure has doubled in just one month.
