Senior Hamas official calls Biden accomplice in Israeli crimes in Gaza

Osama Hamdan demanded that the United States stop weapons supplies to Israel

BEIRUT, March 5. /TASS/. Hamas places political, moral and humanitarian responsibility for the consequences of Israel’s aggression against the Palestinian people on the United States, senior Hamas official in Lebanon Osama Hamdan said.

"The US administration and President [Joe] Biden personally are accomplices in the massacre committed by the occupational regime," he told a news conference in Beirut. "The Americans will not wash clean their reputation stained with Palestinians’ blood by dropping humanitarian aid from planes."

He demanded that the United States stop weapons supplies to Israel. "We are telling Biden and his administration: you must stop supplying the occupational army with weapons and missiles, which are used against innocent people," he said. "Don’t hold up your hand [in the UN Security Council] to veto [resolutions] in front of the entire world, thus, covering the occupational regime so that it could continue war crimes against our people."

He also called on Arab and Islamic countries "to implement their commitments undertaken during recent summits and break the economic blockade of the Gaza Strip."

Tensions flared up again in the Middle East on October 7 after militants from the Gaza Strip-based radical Palestinian group Hamas launched a surprise incursion on Israeli territory, killing many Israeli kibbutz residents living near the Gaza border and abducting more than 240 Israelis, including women, children and the elderly. Israel declared a total blockade of the Gaza Strip and launched bombardments of the enclave and some areas in Lebanon and Syria, as well as a ground operation against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Clashes are also reported in the West Bank.
