Minsk calls on EAEU partners to stand together against new threats — prime minister

In the current conditions, the head of the Government of Belarus considers the issue of strengthening economic cooperation within the framework of the EAEU to be "extremely relevant"

MINSK, February 26. /TASS/. Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko called on partners in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) to work together to fight new challenges and threats, with Moscow and Minsk bearing the brunt of these problems.

"We must present a united front in relation to the challenges and threats that our states face today. We really have an economic union. But the economy is now at the forefront in terms of attacks and threats to which our countries are exposed. First of all, these are Russia and the Republic of Belarus," the head of government said at a meeting with Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Bakytzhan Sagintayev. A video clip of Golovchenko's statements was published on the Telegram channel of the press service of the Council of Ministers.

In the current conditions, the head of the Government of Belarus considers the issue of strengthening economic cooperation within the framework of the EAEU to be "extremely relevant." "The Republic of Belarus has been and remains a staunch supporter of Eurasian integration," Golovchenko said.

According to him, Minsk is determined to accelerate the implementation of projects in the Eurasian space. "We have less than two years left to complete the implementation of the strategy [for the development of Eurasian economic integration until 2025]. There are plenty of questions here too," the Belarusian Prime Minister said.
