Israeli troops fire over 600 shells towards south Lebanon in just one day — portal

Two Hezbollah fighters were killed and five injured in the shelling that targeted the village of Aita al-Shaab

BEIRUT, November 24. /TASS/. Artillery units of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched heavy shelling of southern Lebanon in response to raids carried out by the armed wing of the Hezbollah movement, according to a bulletin published by Lebanon’s Naharnet news portal.

The report says that more than 600 projectiles were fired at Lebanese areas bordering Israel. Reports of material damage came from the settlements of Wadi Saluki, Markaba, Maroun al-Ras, Meiss El Jabal, Rachaf, Rmaych, Tayr Harfa and Al Khiam.

Israeli warplanes carried out 13 air raids targeting Shia positions, including in Iqlim al Tuffah, which is 20 km away from the Israeli border.

The Al Jadeed TV said the Lebanese military and UN peacekeepers registered at least 22 attacks carried out by Shia militants over the past 24 hours.

Over the past day, anti-tank missiles were fired at Israeli bases in Biranit, Birket Risha, Yiftah and Metula. Shia militants claim they killed for Israeli servicemen during an attack on Israeli base in Menara. The IDF has published no reports in that regard, however.
