CSTO approves measures ensuring security, information security

According to Belarusian Foreign Minister Sergey Aleinik, the organization approved about 20 agreements

MINSK, November 22. /TASS/. The joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defense Ministers and the Committee of Secretaries of the Security Councils of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) has approved about 20 agreements, including the decision on additional measures ensuring information security, Belarusian Foreign Minister Sergey Aleinik told reporters after the meeting.

"As a result of the joint meeting, a number of documents were signed in the political and military-political areas, as well as in the field of countering contemporary challenges and threats to security. There are about 20 documents," he said.

"The first document is a statement of the CSTO foreign ministers on joint attitudes to ensuring security in Eurasia, which is of particularly importance in the current military-pollical situation in the region," he added.

Aleinik said that the second most important agreement was the joint decision of the Council of Foreign Ministers and the Committee of Secretaries of the Security Councils to list additional measures of the CSTO member states aimed at ensuring the CSTO’s information security.

"This issue is acquiring importance in the context of growing challenges and threats in virtual space," he said.
