BEIJING, March 13. /TASS/. Authorities in China intend to pursue the policy of opening the national economy to other nations while contributing to their progress, Chinese leader Xi Jinping said at the closing meeting of the first session of the 14thNational People’s Congress on Monday.

"We must resolutely pursue the policy of enhancing openness and actively use global resources and markets," Xi said. "China should progress while contributing to the progress of other countries," he added.

According to the Chinese leader, the people of China "will hold high the banner of peaceful development and mutually advantageous cooperation," and promote universal values, while "playing an active part in reforming and shaping the global management system."

"China will ensure a greater stability and channel additional positive energy into global peaceful development," Xi underscored.

Thus, Beijing is set to create "a positive international atmosphere" for national development, he clarified.
