MOSCOW, May 3. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko have held a telephone conversation to discuss preparations for a forthcoming meeting of the Collective Security Treaty Organization's leaders, the Kremlin’s press-service said on Tuesday.

"Some aspects of interaction within the framework of integration associations in the Eurasian space, including preparations for a forthcoming meeting of the CSTO leaders, were touched upon," the news release reads.

Also, Putin and Lukashenko examined the current situation in the light of Russia’s continuing special military operation to protect Donbass.

Moscow is about to host a jubilee summit of the CSTO, due in May. Earlier, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the date of the meeting had been decided on already, but would be announced later. He said the CSTO leaders might touch upon the situation in Ukraine.
