Russia calls on global community to join anti-terrorism database

Moscow is "seeing good prospects" in establishing information exchange with foreign partners at the intelligence services, reconnaissance structures level,Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov said

BRATISLAVA, March 25. /TASS/. Russia calls on the global community to join the International Counterterrorism Database that is operating under the aegis of the National Counter-Terrorism Committee, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov said at an anti-terrorism conference of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in Bratislava on Monday.

"Russia and its closest allies in the CIS, the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) strive to provide counter-terrorism security, in particular by suppressing any material or non-material support for terrorism and extremism," he noted.

"We are constantly developing legislative and law enforcement measures," Syromolotov went on. "We are seeing good prospects in establishing information exchange with foreign partners at the level of intelligence services and reconnaissance structures. We suggest joining the International Counterterrorism Database operating under the aegis of the Russian National Counter-Terrorism Committee."

The Russian deputy foreign minister said that Russia’s law enforcement and intelligence services organized work against terrorism and extremism and countering the infiltration of members of terrorist groups to Russian territory, including from migration flows, as well as Russian citizens’ departure for participation in armed conflicts abroad.
