Russia reveals 30.2% decline in tourist inflow for 2022

It is noted that compared with 2019, the inbound flow of tourists to Russia dropped 25.5-fold last year

MOSCOW, February 7. /TASS/. The foreign tourist flow to Russia experienced a 30.2% decline in 2022 compared with 2021 to 200,100 trips, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) reported on Tuesday, citing figures provided by the Federal Security Service’s border division.

"In 2022, 200,100 foreign tourists visited Russia. The inbound flow of tourists to Russia turned out lower last year than during the pandemic 2020 and 2021. To compare: in 2020, foreigners visited Russia for tourism purposes 335,800 times, while in 2021, amid the coronavirus-related restrictions the inbound flow of tourists totaled 288,300 trips," the report said.

Compared with 2019, the inbound flow of tourists to Russia dropped 25.5-fold last year, the association noted.

In 2022, Germany ranked first as far as tourist flow to Russia is concerned with 25,400 visits, followed by Turkey (22,600 visits), Iran (14,600), Kazakhstan (13,300), and Cuba (11,300).
