PARIS, August 26 /TASS/. Russian swimmer Vladimir Morozov has set a new world record at 100 m IM on short course 50.30 seconds at the second stage of the 2016 FINA World Cup in Berlin.
He broke his previous world record (50.60), which he had set during the first stage of the 2016 FINA World Cup in Paris on August 26.
Morozov is a bronze medalist of the 2012 Olympic Games in 4 x100 free.
Morozov was one of the Russian athletes initially banned from competing in Rio at the Olympics for doping implications, as he was mentioned in the now ill-famous report of sports law Professor Richard McLaren for suspected ‘disappearing positive tests’. He was reinstated together with the other Russian athletes but failed to win any medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
