Putin sends greetings on Russia’s Energy Industry Worker’s Day

Russian leader stressed that, thanks to their dedication, 'the industry is becoming more and more high-tech with every new year'

MOSCOW, December 22. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated the workers and veterans of the energy industry on their professional holiday, noting their contribution to the quality of life of millions of Russian families.

"I greet the current and former employees of this strategically essential, basic and, without exaggeration, fundamental sector on their professional holiday. Indeed, its efficiency and reliability directly determine further strengthening of the country’s industrial potential, progressive development of the regions, dynamic growth of the national economy, and, consequently, the well-being and improved quality of life of millions of Russian families," the Russian leader said as quoted on the Kremlin website.

Putin stressed that, thanks to their dedication, "the industry is becoming more and more high-tech with every new year, advanced engineering and digital solutions are being introduced, and environmental standards are being raised."

The Russian leader particularly noted "the courage and determination of those specialists who are providing for restoration and operation of the energy systems in Donbas and Novorossiya, as well as other regions in close proximity to the line of engagement."

"In the coming years we need to continue to qualitatively change the image of Russia's energy sector: launch new generation facilities, upgrade the power grid, and, most importantly, develop the power engineering industry on the basis of domestic designs," Putin asserted.

The Russian president wished the workers and veterans of the energy industry health, well-being and a happy New Year.
