HAIKOU /China/, May 2. /TASS/. Hotels and tourist facilities in the southern Chinese province of Hainan offered vacationers a flexible system of discounts during the national Labor Day holiday, which lasts from April 30 to May 4 in 2022 in China. This was reported by the Hainan Daily newspaper.
According to the newspaper, more than 100 hotels in the resort town of Sanya on the southern coast of the island offer vacationers to stay at reduced rates. Thus, payment for a room with a sea view at the five-star Atlantis hotel, which includes a buffet-style breakfast and a visit to the water park, during the May holidays is 888 yuan ($134 at today's exchange rate).
Other hotels and motels in Hainan offer equally attractive rates. Many of them are located along popular tourist routes, which include visits to major beaches and duty-free stores, places of revolutionary fame, special health tourism clinics. Local companies organize dozens of customized car rental tours that cater to a variety of social groups, including parents with children, honeymooners, and vacationers in the countryside.
A number of attractions, including China's famous Yanoda Rainforest Cultural Tourism Zone, which covers an area of 45 square kilometers, have provided residents with free admission during the weekend. A number of benefits on the island apply to medical professionals everywhere.
According to statistics, the number of tourists visiting Hainan in 2021 increased by almost a quarter, to 81 million people. The province's income from tourist activity during the same period grew by about 60%, amounting to 138.4 billion yuan (about $22 billion). According to the official plan, these figures will increase by 10 and 15 percent, respectively, taking into account the pandemic this year.
