MOSCOW, January 16. /TASS/. The number of coronavirus cases in Russia per day increased by 24,092. The total number of cases reached 3,544,623, the operational headquarters for the fight against coronavirus told reporters on Saturday.
In relative terms, according to the headquarters, the increase in new cases does not exceed 0.7%.
The lowest growth rates were recorded per day in the Republic of Tyva (0.2%), Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, Jewish Autonomous District (0.3%), Magadan Region, Kemerovo Region, Chukotka Autonomous District and Ingushetia (0.4%).
In particular, 3,253 coronavirus cases were registered over day in St. Petersburg, 1,406 in the Moscow region, 485 in the Nizhny Novgorod region, 397 in the Sverdlovsk region, 393 in the Rostov region. Currently, 542,547 people are continuing treatment in Russia.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Moscow increased by 4,674 per day to 887,636.
A day earlier, 5,534 cases were identified. According to the headquarters, 79 deaths due to coronavirus were registered in the capital over the day against 81 the day before. In total. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 12,401 deaths have been registered in Moscow due to coronavirus.
Meanwhile, 5,639 coronavirus patients were discharged in Moscow. Thus, for 16 days in a row, more people in the city recovered than were infected. In total, 734,728 people have been discharged, or 82.8% of all infected.
The number of patients recovered from coronavirus increased in Russia by 27,311 per day to 2,936,991.
The total share of recovered has reached 82.8%, a new high since the start of the pandemic.
In particular, 3,625 people were discharged over day in St. Petersburg, 1,300 in the Moscow region, 479 in the Voronezh region, 455 in the Nizhny Novgorod region, 405 in the Sverdlovsk region.
The number of deaths due to coronavirus in Russia increased by 590 per day against 555 a day earlier, this is the highest figure since the beginning of the year. A total of 65,085 patients have died from coronavirus.
The conditional mortality rate of the disease (the final one can be determined only after the end of the epidemic) has grown to 1.84%, the headquarters said.
In particular, 67 deaths were recorded per day in St. Petersburg, 32 in the Moscow region, 25 in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, 20 in the Krasnodar Territory, 17 each in the Nizhny Novgorod and Sverdlovsk Regions.
