First Belgorod university to begin programs in digitalization of agro-industrial complex

A lot of attention in the new program will be paid to practice-oriented training with the involvement of qualified specialists in the field of digitalization and representatives of agribusiness

MOSCOW, April 26. /TASS/. Belgorod State University will be the first among the universities of the Belgorod region to begin training specialists in digital transformation of the agro-industrial complex in 2021, the press service of the university reported on Monday. 

"Belgorod State University will train specialists in the field of digital transformation for the agro-industrial complex. In 2021, a new educational master's program 'Information systems and technologies in the agro-industrial complex' will be launched at Belgorod State University, which will provide Belgorod's top-notch science and research center with highly qualified personnel", the press service said. 

As the press service of the university clarified to TASS, Belgorod State University will be the first among the universities in the region to train specialists in the field of digitalization of the agro-industrial complex. The new program within the framework of the research center dubbed "Innovative solutions in the agro-industrial complex" will be implemented on the basis of the Institute of Engineering and Digital Technologies of Belgorod State University, the first set includes 34 state-funded places for full-time education and 11 places — distance learning. 

"Graduates will organize a large amount of data in the field of agro-industrial complex and make them useful, find a problem and offer an effective solution, forecast risks, minimize errors due to the human factor, analyze and propose innovative approaches for companies' activities," said Olga Ivaschuk, head of the Department of Information Robotic Systems of the Institute of Engineering and Digital Technologies at the university.

A lot of attention in the new program will be paid to practice-oriented training with the involvement of qualified specialists in the field of digitalization and representatives of agribusiness. As a result of two years of study, graduates will receive the competencies necessary for the development of innovative technologies in the agricultural sector, including at major agricultural enterprises in the region, in agricultural holdings of the Central Federal District.
