Russian, LPR forces control situation in Popasnaya - head of Chechnya

Ramzan Kadyrov once again called on Ukrainian forces to lay down their weapons

GROZNY, May 5. /TASS/. The situation in the town of Popasnaya, Lugansk People’s Republic, is under control of Russian and LPR forces, head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov said in his Telegram channel Thursday.

"The situation in Lugansk People’s Republic town of Popasnaya is under control of Russian forces and LPR military units. […] The town is located on an elevation, and so Ukrainian bandit units cling to every meter of favorable and perfectly fire-swept position," Kadyrov said.

He added that, despite the brutal resistance, squads of Chechen fighters "steadfastly kick" Ukrainian nationalists and bandits who try to cover in houses and all kinds of infrastructure objects. In particular, he told about elimination of three saboteurs who infiltrated one building.

The head of Chechnya once again called on Ukrainian forces to lay down their weapons.

"It is futile to hide from us in holes and try to hit us with European weapons from there. All your efforts have been nullified. […] Resistance is futile, you’d do better to lay down your weapons an surrender to Russian forces. You’ll manage to save your lives this way," Kadyrov noted.
