Russian, Congolese presidents to meet one-on-one — Kremlin

Today is a big day for Russian-Congolese relations, Dmitry Peskov noted

MOSCOW, April 29. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Congolese counterpart Denis Sassou Nguesso will hold talks with delegations from both countries and will also meet one-on-one, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"Today is a big day for Russian-Congolese relations," he noted, recalling that the leader of the Republic of the Congo is currently on a state visit to Russia. "This is his first state visit since being re-elected president," the spokesman pointed out.

"Talks will take place today. These will include closed-door talks, discussions between the two countries’ delegations, an official welcoming ceremony for the president - a standard protocol element of a state visit - and the two presidents will also continue their discussions in a face-to-face format," he added.
