Russia, UNCTAD working to resolve issues in banking settlements — MFA

The ministry noted that both sides confirmed the importance of continuing efforts to normalize access of Russian agricultural products to world markets, which has been complicated by illegal unilateral Western sanctions

MOSCOW, December 17. /TASS/. Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin and Secretary-General of the UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Rebeca Grynspan stressed the importance of work aimed at normalizing access for Russian agricultural products to world markets and studied ways to overcome difficulties in banking settlements, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

"[During consultations] particular attention was paid to the needs of vulnerable countries, including issues of organizing the gratuitous transfer of Russian grain and fertilizers with the assistance of the UN. In addition, ways to overcome specific difficulties in banking settlements, transport logistics and insurance were considered," the ministry said.
