MOSCOW, December 13. /TASS/. The Kiev regime eroded trust in Ukrainian political parties among Donbass residents between 2012 and 2022, Denis Pushilin, the head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), said on Friday.
"After we chose our path and tied our future to Russia back in 2014, our society began rejecting political parties, which had been discredited in Ukraine," Pushilin said at a discussion panel titled "The Party’s Grassroots Branch" ahead of the 22nd Congress of the United Russia party.
The DPR residents believe that Ukraine's former ruling party, The Party of Regions, abandoned them, Pushilin noted. "It betrayed us. This was in 2014, when we called for the protection of our interests and when Donbass strongly opposed the coup," he explained.
