WIPO members adopt Riyadh Design Law Treaty

The treaty is aimed at harmonization of national and regional laws and at unification of formal requirements to designs registration

MOSCOW, November 22. /TASS/. Member-states of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) negotiated and adopted the Riyadh Design Law Treaty, the press service of the Russian Patent Authority said.

The treaty was signed within the framework of the 22nd Diplomatic Conference for conclusion and adoption of the Design Law Treaty.

"In conclusion of the negotiating process lasting for twenty years, all WIPO member-countries came to a historical unanimous decision of adopting and entering into the Riyadh Treaty," the Russian Patent Authority said.
