MOSCOW, October 27. /TASS/. Finland’s ambassador to Moscow Antti Helantera on October 25 was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry to be notified of the termination of the cross-border cooperation agreement.
"The head of the diplomatic mission was notified that among the retaliatory measures to Finland’s confrontational actions against Russia, including the severing of trading, economic and interregional ties, direct people-to-people contacts, as well as discrimination of Russians on the account of nationality in issuing entry visas Russia decided to terminate the agreement between the Russian government and the government of Finland on the promotion of cross-border cooperation, signed in Helsinki on April 13, 2012," the Russian Foreign Ministry stated.
Helantera was handed a diplomatic note saying that, in accordance with Article 14 of this agreement, it will be terminated in 90 days, that is, on January 24, 2024.
