US maintains contact with Russia on cybersecurity issues, diplomat says

WASHINGTON, April 13. /TASS/. The United States maintains contact with Russia on cybersecurity issues, US Department of State's Ambassador-at-Large for Cyberspace and Digital Policy Nathaniel Fick said at a meeting with the Washington-based Defense Writers Group.

"My view is that it's most important when it's most difficult and it's essential to maintain the channels of communication when things are hard. So yes, I'm across the table from Russian counterparts with some frequency, and with Chinese as well," he pointed out in response to a TASS question.

"I can't get into a ton of detail about it, but we do maintain the channel," Fick added.
