CHITA, December 22. /TASS/. Two freight trains collided at the Trans-Baikal Railways, suspending two-way traffic, the East Siberian Transport Prosecutor’s Office reported on Sunday.
Both freight trains loaded with coal collided at the Bushulei-Zhireken railway section. Thirty-five railway cars of the first train and 7 railway cars of the second train derailed, it specified.
"Traffic has been fully suspended in both directions. The circumstances are being clarified," it said.
Investigators of the Trans-Baikal Investigative Department have opened a criminal probe into the violation of railway transport operation and safety rules, the press office reported.
