Thirteen people on board crashed helicopter in Kazakhstan

The helicopter belongs to the Kazakhstan’s Armed Forces

NURSULTAN, March 27. /TASS/. Thirteen people were on board the helicopter that crashed in Kazakhstan on Wednesday, Kazakhstan’s Defense Ministry informed.

"On March 27, 2019, a helicopter belonging to the Kazakhstan’s Armed Forces has crashed. There were 13 people on board. According to preliminary reports from the crash site, there are casualties," the message by the ministry’s press service informed.

Earlier, a representative of the emergencies committee of the country’s Interior Ministry informed that a Mi-8 helicopter had crashed on March 27 at around 17:35 pm (14:35 Moscow time). "The plane has crashed due to unknown circumstances, caught fire and and was burned completely," the representative stated.

A special commission has been formed and sent to the crash site by Kazakhstan’s Defense Minister Nurlan Yermekbayev. So far, the number of victims is unknown.

"Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Interior have started the investigation of the causes and circumstances of the aircraft crash," the press service stated.
