Prosecutors say 18 people injured in Kuzbass bus accident

According to earlier reports, six people were killed and 16 were injured

MOSCOW, February 8. /TASS/. According to updated information, 18 people were injured in an accident with a shift bus in the Kemerovo Region, regional prosecutors told TASS on Friday.

"This is the latest figure - 18," the prosecutors said.

According to earlier reports, six people were killed and 16 were injured.

The accident took place 100 km away from the town of Mezhdurechensk on the territory of the Raspadsky open cast. A bush shift that was transporting workers fell to a road ditch at a height of about eight meters. Six people were killed, 18 were injured, and all the injured people were hospitalized. The Russian Investigative Committee’s regional investigative directorate launched a criminal case based on the violation of rules when carrying out work, which led to the death of two or more persons by recklessness.

The Raspadsky open cast is part of the Raspadskaya group. The company mines for coal and cleans it in the Kemerovo Region and includes, apart from the open cast, three mines, a coal preparation plant and enterprises of transport and industrial infrastructure. The entity is working in difficult environmental conditions with thin layers.
