Death toll after building collapse in Magnitogorsk rises to 36

The fate of five individuals is still unknown.

MOSCOW, January 3. /TASS/. The death toll as a result of the collapse of a section of a building in the Ural city of Magnitogorsk has increased to 36, press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry told TASS on Thursday.

"Bodies of two women and a man were recovered. The death toll is 36," the spokesperson said.

The fate of five individuals is still unknown.

In the morning of December 31, a section of a ten-story apartment block collapsed in the Ural city of Magnitogorsk. It was earlier reported that Russia’s Investigative Committee looks into a gas leak as the main lead in the investigation.
