MINSK, December 18. /TASS/. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said he cannot lead the country indefinitely and that doing so would not be right.

"I am not eternal, and while much in our system depends on the president, it is time to acknowledge that leadership changes are inevitable," Lukashenko said at the 7th All-Belarusian People’s Assembly.

"I am a departing president. I cannot, and should not, remain in this position forever," he added.
