Trump says US Air Force plane crash in Iran to have no effect on negotiations

The US leader declined to discuss the details of the ongoing search and rescue operation in Iran

NEW YORK, April 3. /TASS/. The incident involving a US F-15E fighter jet shot down over Iran will not affect negotiations with Tehran, US President Donald Trump stated in a brief telephone interview with NBC News.

"No, not at all. No, it's war. We're in war," Trump said, answering a question about whether the events which occurred on April 3 would impact the negotiation process.

The president declined to discuss the details of the ongoing search and rescue operation in Iran.

Earlier, the US CBS News channel claimed that one of the two crew members of the US F-15E fighter jet shot down over Iran had been rescued.

Meanwhile, the General Staff of the Iranian armed forces stated that an US F-35 fighter jet was shot down over the central regions of the Islamic Republic on Friday morning. State television of the Iranian province of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad announced a reward for the capture of the pilot.
