Musk agrees with Telegram CEO that WhatsApp not secure

The US entrepreneur noted that his team had analyzed how WhatsApp implements its encryption and found many opportunities for attacks on the app

NEW YORK, January 27. /TASS/. US entrepreneur Elon Musk agreed with Telegram CEO Pavel Durov, who previously stated that WhatsApp (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in Russia) is unsafe.

"True," Musk replied to Durov’s X post from January 26, in which the Telegram CEO said that "you’d have to be braindead to believe WhatsApp is secure in 2026." He noted that his team analyzed how WhatsApp implements its encryption and found many opportunities for attacks on the app.
