Murmansk business resident to make 1,500 unmanned aerial vehicles per month

The company's CEO Ivan Sukhanov stressed 40% of the products would be exported, including to the Arab League countries

MOSCOW, January 23. /TASS/. The Progress Company will start making 1,500 unmanned aerial vehicles per month in Murmansk in 2025, and will export 40% of the products, press service of the Far East and the Arctic Development Corporation said.

"Progress, a business resident of the Russian Federation's Arctic Zone, will build a facility to assemble unmanned aerial vehicles in Murmansk," the press service said. "Under an agreement with the Far East and the Arctic Development Corporation, the company will invest 3.2 million rubles ($31,000). The capacity will be 1,500 units per month. The production will start at the end of 2025."

The company's CEO Ivan Sukhanov stressed 40% of the products would be exported, including to the Arab League countries. "Under the project, our company will build an assembly shop of prefabricated structures to produce unmanned aerial vehicles, especially surface-based ones," he said.

The Murmansk Region offers special conditions for businesses beginning new investment projects in the region. The support measures include compensation for insurance premiums' 75% for 10 years. During the first 5 years, the income tax rate remains at 5%. Business residents are not liable for the land tax for the first 3 years, and for the property tax for the first 5 years.
