Trump’s aggressive trade policies leading to global economic crisis — journal

"Trying to force others to use the dollar would actually make them want to use it less — and undermine its credibility," the article says

NEW YORK, January 22. /TASS/. The potential introduction of high import duties on goods from other countries by US President Donald Trump will lead to a global economic crisis, the Foreign Affairs journal said in its article.

"Trump’s aggressive trade policies, even if they manage to eke out grudging concessions from others, will undermine broader U.S. foreign policy goals," the news outlet said. Furthermore, it will prompt other countries to defend themselves against pressure from Washington, the Foreign Affairs noted.

"Trying to force others to use the dollar would actually make them want to use it less — and undermine its credibility," the journal added.
